What is CNC machining and how does it work?

CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machining is a subtractive manufacturing process where pre-programmed software controls machine tools to remove material from a workpiece with extraordinary precision. At MW+, our 5-axis CNC centers interpret G-code instructions to guide cutting tools along X, Y, Z, A, and B axes simultaneously — achieving tolerances as tight as ±0.001mm on metals, plastics, and exotic alloys.

What tolerances can you achieve?

Our standard CNC machining tolerance is ±0.01mm. For precision applications we routinely hold ±0.005mm, and with specialized 5-axis setups and ultra-precision tooling, we achieve ±0.001mm. Surface roughness ranges from Ra 3.2μm (standard as-machined) to Ra 0.4μm (fine finish) and Ra 0.1μm (mirror polish). All tolerances are verified with Zeiss CMM equipment and documented in inspection reports.

Do you provide quality certifications and inspection reports?

Yes. MW+ is ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100D certified. We provide Certificate of Conformance (COC) with every shipment, CMM inspection reports on request, material certifications (mill certs) for full traceability, First Article Inspection (FAI) reports per AS9102, and SPC data for production runs.
