Batch Tracking Case Study: Isolating a Material Non-Conformance in 2.5 Hours

Lot traceability is basically about a set of parts that came out of the same material batch and same production run, then tie that set to one single record. Serial-level traceability on the other hand gives each individual part its own unique ID so it can be tracked on its own, even when you mix it back with other units. Serial-level traceability is mandatory for medical implants and other high consequence aerospace work, while lot-level traceability is the usual approach across most industrial , plus commercial precision machining.
